BlazBlue Centralfiction contains two distinct narrative modes: Story Mode, which completes the main plot, and Arcade Mode, which gives individual characters three-act battle stories. Unlike the early BlazBlue games, this entry does not require a large grid of character-specific good, bad and gag outcomes to unlock the canonical conclusion. Follow the main storyline and win its required fights; then revisit the chapter selector for the supplemental scenes. A few scripted confrontations resolve automatically and must not be mistaken for battles the player can win.
Story Mode – Opening Recap and Canon Route
Open Story Mode from the Story menu.
At the first recap decision, choose the longer review of the earlier BlazBlue games if you want the Library’s additional history entries.
Alternatively, choose the shorter recent-events recap to enter the current scenario sooner.
You can return to Episode 1, Chapter 2 and take the other option later; neither choice changes Centralfiction’s canonical ending.
Read or advance through each story scene in sequence.
For every playable fight below, defeat the listed opponent with the controlled character.
For encounters marked Automatic, continue watching; the story resolves that battle without a player-controlled victory.
If defeated in a required fight, retry it rather than treating that loss as a separate ending.

Arcade Mode – Character Availability and Edition Differences
Most original playable characters have Arcade Acts 1, 2, and 3.
Nine the Phantom begins with Act 2 rather than Act 1.
Izanami and characters added after the original arcade release have only later act availability; do not search for nonexistent Act 1 endings.
Additional downloadable or console-exclusive characters may have only Act 3.
If an act is absent from a character’s selection list, it is not a secret route that must be unlocked.
The console Story Mode’s ending is separate from these Arcade Mode character conclusions.
